Prince Kempster

Prince Kempster is a contemporary painter with a focus of still life painting and an influence from impressionism painting. Their work is proudly colourful and loud. They reject naturalist subtly and instead aim to create work that looks intentional and posed. Inspired by camp films, queer culture, and antique stores; they endeavour to make elaborate compositions and harmonious colour palettes.

Through their work they explore how colours interact, often exaggerating the small colour shifts within a single object. They are drawn to painting fruit, reflective and transparent objects because colour shifts, bounces, and swims on these objects.
